Munich is also up there, tied in 7th place with Frankfurt, which happens to be the home of my friend Allan, who I’ve visited several times since he moved there about ten years ago. It is a pretty cool town, home of the Oktoberfest, Paulaner, BMW, Hofbrau, Siemens, Microsoft’s European HQ – it’s near Salzburg, the Alps, many castles, beautiful architecture, and so much history.
Including the 2002 World Cup Qualifier. Ahem, 5-1.
football. no, the other one.
just got home from seeing my first ’soccer’ match and it was actually way better than i expected. i didn’t get bored around 70 minutes in and start trying to see which of the players was hottest. i was disappointed that it didn’t smell like the footie matches of my youth; all aftershave, deep heat and bad burgers and onions. but once i got over that, it was all fine. offensive chanting, penalties, beer… check, check and check!
it reminded me that i promised to link this for a friend…
